She began her career change to counselling in 2019 and is excited to put her learning into practice at Modern Minds.
She is passionate about utilising client-centred and solution-focused approaches such as;
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) a type of therapy that utilises mindfulness to bring you back to the present moment and teaches you how to accept thoughts and feelings without judgment. This therapy aims to help you navigate difficult emotions or experiences and move forward.
Solution Focused Therapy
Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) is a goal-orientated, collaborative approach that can be used for short-term therapy. This therapy involves a series of constructed questions and conversation techniques that primarily focus on positive aspects of the client's life and pinpoint the client's strengths and resources that can be used when developing the treatment plan.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness encourages us to be fully present, aware and neutral towards our thoughts, bodily sensations and what's going on around us. Mindfulness can help with clients experiencing anxiety, depression or illness and can also be useful for clients who want to bring more calm and groundedness into their lives.
“You do not have to be feeling extreme levels of mental unrest to attend therapy - I am open to helping anyone who feels they could benefit from attending therapy as sometimes people want mental health maintenance, while others may be struggling to cope and need help navigating their distress.”

Danielle’s topics of interest include:
Coping with health anxiety
Health anxiety can manifest as excessive worry about having or developing a serious illness. This anxiety can stem from a previous illness, a fixation on natural bodily sensations that are misinterpreted as illness or fear of developing a serious illness. Using techniques from empirically supported techniques from CBT and ACT Danielle will work towards helping you feel more balanced and calm in response to illness and illness-related anxiety.
Christian Faith-Based Counselling (upon request)
Faith influences a person's thoughts, relationships, decision-making, worldview and sense of self. Christians dealing with mental health concerns or who want help navigating aspects of their life may find it more helpful to speak with someone who shares their faith and understands the influence faith can have in all areas of their life. This form of therapy utilises empirically supported therapeutic techniques with the inclusion of faith, prayer and Biblical instruction.
General Mental Health
Depression, anxiety, difficulties with decision making and anything else that might bring a person into therapy.
Conversational Hypnosis
Conversational Hypnosis is a fast and effective way of getting to the root of the problem. Through conversation and questions, clients will experience a natural state of hypnosis and tap into their subconscious to explore and solve the problem. Throughout the session, clients will experience breakthroughs or 'lightbulb moments' that lead to clarity and lasting change. Conversational hypnosis feels like a deep conversation and does not involve scripts or meditative states.
