General FAQs

How can I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment online through our Client Online Portal, here. Your appointment will be confirmed instantly.

Do you offer Telehealth appointments?

Yes, we are happy to offer both in-person consultations and online through Telehealth. You can select the Telehealth option when booking online through our Client Portal, here.

How long does a typical session go for?

Consultations are 50 minutes with our psychologists, counsellors and nutritionist.

How many sessions will I need?

The amount of sessions required is dependant on your particular needs and your goals of therapy. Your practitioner will work with you to continually assess what is best required for you.

How often should I attend?

How often you attend a session is up to you and your individual circumstances and needs. Your practitioner can offer guidance on how often you should attend a session.

What types of issues do you treat?

Fees and Referrals

How much are psychology sessions?

A session with one of our psychologists is $280. The fee for a session with Kobie Allison, Modern Minds, Director is $320. Find out more about our Fees and Referrals, here.

Do you offer medicare rebates?

Yes, we offer Medicare rebates. Please ensure your Medicare card details are on file with us, so we can process the Medicare claim for you. The Medicare rebate is $93.35 for a psychologist session. Find out more about our Fees and Referrals, here.

How can I get medicare rebates?

If you have a referral from your GP and a Mental Health Care Plan, you are entitled to up to 10+ sessions through Medicare. Following your bill being paid in full we will then submit your claim to Medicare for your rebate on the day following your visit.

Do you see NDIS/DVA/Workcover clients?

Unfortunately not at this stage. We require payment upfront, however you can then seek reimbursement for your NDIS/DVA/Workcover claim. With private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim partial costs of the consultation fee.

Bookings and Cancellations

How do I cancel my appointment?

To cancel your appointment online log onto the Client Portal here and select ‘My Appointments’. Follow the prompts to cancel your appointment. Alternatively you may contact us here to cancel your appointment. Please note Modern Minds has a minimum 48-hour cancellation policy.

How do I reschedule my appointment?

To reschedule your appointment online log onto the Client Portal here and select ‘My Appointments’. Follow the prompts to reschedule your appointment. Alternatively you may contact us at hello@modernminds.com.au to reschedule.

How can I make recurring appointments?

To make recurring appointments please email our friendly staff at hello@modernminds.com.au. They can assist booking several appointments for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you are unable to keep an appointment, Modern Minds requires two full business day notice (or 48 hours). This notice is required as a courtesy to your Modern Minds practitioner and other clients who are waiting and may require care. Appointments that are cancelled or not attended within this time period will be charged a full session fee. This cancellation charge will not be claimable through Medicare. What are your wait times?

Wait times vary for each clinician. Sign up or login to our Client Portal online to view each clinician’s availability. If you are having trouble finding availability please contact us here for further assistance.
