The Modern Minds Telehealth Difference

Clinical-Grade Online Therapy, Wherever You Are

For two decades, Modern Minds has provided depth-oriented psychology and counselling in Brisbane. Our telehealth service brings that same standard of care with psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, couples counselling, and trauma-informed sessions, to every state and territory in Australia.

Whether you're in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, regional Queensland, or a rural community with limited local services, you can access the same rigorous, holistic care from the privacy of your own home.

Connection Without Compromise

The therapeutic relationship translates powerfully to video. Many clients find they open up more readily from a familiar environment. Our practitioners are trained to build depth, safety, and presence.

Privacy, Elevated

Meet with your telehealth psychologist from a space you control. No waiting rooms, no commutes, no chance of being seen entering a clinic. Our secure, encrypted platform ensures your session remains completely confidential.

Flexibility That Fits Your Life

Book early mornings, lunch hours, or Saturday sessions. We accommodate clients across all Australian time zones, including Perth, Adelaide, and Darwin. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.

How It Works

How Telehealth Psychology Works

Step 1 – Book:

Choose your practitioner and select a telehealth appointment through our online portal. Prefer to chat first? Schedule a free 10-minute discovery call with our Client Care Officer.

Step 2 – Prepare:

You'll receive a secure, encrypted video link via email. No software download required. Simply click the link from your phone, tablet, or computer at your appointment time.

Step 3 – Session:

Your session runs for 50 minutes, exactly as it would in our Windsor clinic. Your psychologist will guide the process, ensuring you feel grounded and connected throughout.

Step 4 - Follow-Up:

Rebook directly through the portal or discuss your ongoing care plan with your practitioner. We handle Medicare rebate processing instantly if your bank account is linked.

Visit your GP and request a Mental Health Care Plan. (You do not need a referral to book with us, but you will need a care plan to claim your rebate.)

Step 3

Pay for your session at the time of booking. We accept credit card and session pack payments.

Why Telehealth Psychology Works

Is Online Therapy as Effective as In-Person?

Research consistently shows that telehealth psychology produces outcomes equivalent to face-to-face care for anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship concerns. At Modern Minds, our telehealth sessions follow the same clinical frameworks, the same durations, and the same ethical standards as our Windsor practice. The only difference is the room.

Who Is Telehealth Ideal For?

Clients living in regional or rural Australia with limited local specialist services.

● Busy professionals, parents, or carers who cannot commute to a clinic.

● Frequent travellers who want continuity of care on the road.

● Individuals who feel more comfortable opening up from their own private space.

● Couples who find it easier to coordinate joint sessions from home

● Those seeking specialist modalities like EMDR or psychodynamic therapy that may not be available locally

"I was hesitant about video sessions, but working with Kobie via telehealth has been just as deep and connected as my previous in-person therapy. Being in my own home actually helped me feel safer exploring difficult material."

Sarah, Melbourne
